What is it?

Approved medicine for androgen-deprivation in prostate cancer and other labelled hormone-dependent conditions, including some paediatric central precocious puberty products.

Mechanism of action

Established (labelled / textbook receptor pharmacology)

Continuous GnRH-receptor stimulation down-regulates pituitary gonadotrophin release after an initial flare, lowering sex steroids.

Medical castration / suppression of gonadal steroids as labelled.
